Surrey Cycleway & Box Hill
A medium paced all-day ride from Orpington to Epsom via the North Downs and Surrey Cycleway, approximately 50miles. In the morning there will be a gentle climb over the North Downs with fantastic views over Kent and Surrey, riding along quiet country lanes and then descending to Godstone for an early Lunch. From there we join the Surrey Cycleway and head towards the beautiful Mole Valley.
The day will finish with an ascent of the famous (and newly resurfaced) Zig Zag road to the National Trust cafe (also refurbished) atop Box Hill. More fantastic views of the south-east and a gentle roll towards Epsom Downs past the racecourse.
Plenty of opportunities to drop out if you don't feel like the full distance - Horley at 25 miles or Dorking at 40miles. No-one left behind, suitable for all bikes.
Meet at London Bridge station outside the national rail ticket office at 9am for a train to Orpington. Return from Sutton station around 5pm. Both stations in Oyster zone 6.

Upcoming rides & events
Our rides are highlighted by "RIDE". You don't have to be a member to join in and we're also always looking for new ride ideas. Contact our Rides Co-ordinator for further information.
There is no need to register beforehand for a ride unless this is specifically stated, most rides are "turn up and go".
Please note that for train assisted rides we often cannot publish times until about 2 weeks beforehand because of the need to check engineering works. Also sometimes our ride leaders do have to change dates/times/routes at reasonably short notice. Generally this website will be up to date and also details will be sent out to our email groups, but if in doubt contact the ride leader or our rides co-ordinator to check arrangements.
