Women's Ride 2 - Isle of Dogs and Waterlink Way
Following on from April's successful women-only ride, this time we will head south via the Isle of Dogs to Greenwich and the Waterlink Way. We will again be joining up with the Tower Hamlets Cycling Club for this ride on a mix of traffic-free paths and quiet roads.
The ride will start at 13.00 on top of the Green Bridge, with a pick up from Mile End Stadium a few minutes later and we expect to be back at Mile End around 17.30 - so have lunch before you ride, and then we'll have an afternoon tea stop, hopefully at Ladywell. If you plan to lunch in Wheelers favourite cafe Vesuvios before the ride then contact me and you can join us from there around 13.15.
Plenty of interesting sights on this one - we'll see docks on the Isle of Dogs, use the new Greenwich foot tunnel lifts, admire the magnificent restored Cutty Sark and then savour the delights of the river Ravensbourne in Brookmill Park and Ladywell Fields. Time permitting we'll get as far as the Pool River just south of Catford.
Possibility to hire a bike (at a low rate) from THCC if you need it - contact me and I'll put you in touch.
Upcoming rides & events
Our rides are highlighted by "RIDE". You don't have to be a member to join in and we're also always looking for new ride ideas. Contact our Rides Co-ordinator for further information.
There is no need to register beforehand for a ride unless this is specifically stated, most rides are "turn up and go".
Please note that for train assisted rides we often cannot publish times until about 2 weeks beforehand because of the need to check engineering works. Also sometimes our ride leaders do have to change dates/times/routes at reasonably short notice. Generally this website will be up to date and also details will be sent out to our email groups, but if in doubt contact the ride leader or our rides co-ordinator to check arrangements.
