Christmas Lights Ride and Carol Service
Our traditional Christmas Lights Ride on the Sunday before Christmas, with an optional carol service at the end. Neville will guide us round some obscure corners of the Borough where residents light up their homes with festive cheer for all to enjoy.
We will meet from 5.30 for a start at 5.40 prompt. The ride will go around Bow, where some of the householders have most of the best lights in the Borough – if you know where to look, then head down to Limehouse in time for the traditional carol service at 7.00pm.
Feel free to join us at the carol service if you can't make the ride. The carol service at St Anne's Parish Church is by candle-light, with Christmas readings from the 400-year old King James Bible, and music by the Docklands Symphony Orchestra, followed by mince pies and mulled wine.
Upcoming rides & events
Our rides are highlighted by "RIDE". You don't have to be a member to join in and we're also always looking for new ride ideas. Contact our Rides Co-ordinator for further information.
There is no need to register beforehand for a ride unless this is specifically stated, most rides are "turn up and go".
Please note that for train assisted rides we often cannot publish times until about 2 weeks beforehand because of the need to check engineering works. Also sometimes our ride leaders do have to change dates/times/routes at reasonably short notice. Generally this website will be up to date and also details will be sent out to our email groups, but if in doubt contact the ride leader or our rides co-ordinator to check arrangements.
