On Friday, 18th November Tower Hamlets Wheelers will be commemorating the fifth anniversary of the vigil that we organised at Bow roundabout in 2011 by meeting again at the roundabout at 18:00.
Last night friends and members of Wheelers gathered for a vigil at the memorial bike of the anniversary of the death of Svitlana Tereschenko at Bow Roundabout who was tragically killed there four years ago. Our members also took the opportunity to remember the other victims of Bow Roundabout, Venera Minakhmetova (13 Nov 2013) and Brian Dorling (24 Oct 2011) by placing flowers.
11th November was the third anniversary of the tragic death of Svitlana Tereshchenko who was killed at Bow Roundabout. Her memorial bike, which had been restored by Wheelers and removed for the CS2 upgrade, was returned to the site last week. During its removal the bike has been modified so that parts cannot be removed from it.
Yesterday it was 2 years from the day when Svitlana Tereshchenko was killed at Bow Roundabout. On behalf of friends and family we would like to thank Gerry Matthews and other 3 ladies from Tower Hamlets Wheelers for joining us last night and sharing our memories with us. Many thanks! Tanya
This month last year Brian Dorling and Svitlana Tereschenko were both tragically killed in collisions with trucks at Bow roundabout. 40 days after Svitlana's untimely death her family placed a 'ghost' bicycle in her memory at the place where she died.
