The Return of Summer Evening Rides - Cody Dock and Beyond Thursday 11 June 6.30pm

Thursday, 11 June 2026 - 6:30pm - 9:00pm

It's that time of year again when the sun is warm and the evenings are long. Tower Hamlets Wheelers' Summer Evening Rides are easy paced, stress busting rides for all skill levels exploring the green spaces of the borough and our neighbouring boroughs with pleasant company and mostly away from traffic with the addition of some storytelling and local history.

If you've never been before, Cody Dock is an old industrial site situated on the lower River Lea which has been transformed into a creative industries quarter with community gardens, arts, moorings and conservation of the Lower Lea and footpaths – opening up the river for everyone.

If you have been before but not visited for a while then come along and see how much work has been done recently including the installation of their new rolling bridge. After leaving Cody Dock we'll head for the Tower Hamlets' town for the 21st Century!

Date: Thursday 11 June
Time: 6.30pm
Meet: The Pavilion Cafe, Victoria Park, E9 7DE (///answer.often.home)

I would like to leave at 6.30pm sharp so please try to be on time, call if you're going to be late (don't WhatsApp or text). The ride is expected to end at about 9pm at a local pub. Do remember to bring your lights and locks.

I'm hoping to organise an evening ride every week until mid August and also some weekend rides.

Rides information

Our rides are highlighted by "RIDE". You don't have to be a member to join in and we're also always looking for new ride ideas. Contact our Rides Co-ordinator for further information.

There is no need to register beforehand for a ride unless this is specifically stated, most rides are "turn up and go".

If you haven't ridden with us before please read our Ride Guidance Notes.

Please note that for train assisted rides we often cannot publish times until about 2 weeks beforehand because of the need to check engineering works. Also sometimes our ride leaders do have to change dates/times/routes at reasonably short notice. Generally this website will be up to date and also details will be sent out to our email groups, but if in doubt contact the ride leader or our rides co-ordinator to check arrangements.
