The Hell of The East Bike Ride (The Director's Cut)
The Hell of The East bike ride is a tribute to the classic bike race Paris to Roubaix known as The Hell of The North which takes place in northern France in mid April. The race has over fifty sections of cobblestone roads, some of which are brutal.
Tower Hamlets has more cobblestone roads than another London borough so join us for an easy paced, fun, bone shaking, teeth rattling 10 mile ride as we attempt to join up at least 90% of the cobblestone section of the East End. Although the ride is about 10 miles, less than three miles is cobblestoned. Any bike will do and the ride is on open roads.
We did the ride on April 12th but had to cut it short due to a timing issue. This ride will cover the full course hence 'The Director's Cut' title and is expected to last about two and a half hours. There will also be stops for a little history and storytelling.

Start: The pavilion Cafe, Victoria Park
At the end of the ride there will be an option to go to a local pub.

There is no need to register beforehand for a ride unless this is specifically stated, most rides are "turn up and go".

Please note that for train assisted rides we often cannot publish times until about 2 weeks beforehand because of the need to check engineering works. Also sometimes our ride leaders do have to change dates/times/routes at reasonably short notice. Generally this website will be up to date and also details will be sent out to our email groups, but if in doubt contact the ride leader or our rides co-ordinator to check arrangements.
