Guided Ride to RideLondon Freecycle
As in previous years on Saturday 28th July the roads of central London will be closed for the Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle. FreeCycle is for all the family on a circuit that starts from the western end at Fenchurch Street, up to Buckingham Palace and back again. It’s a great opportunity to get on your bike and see the sights of London on closed roads, why not organise a picnic in St James' Park, Green Park or Lincoln's Inn Fields? There will also be other activities in Green Park, St Paul's, Guildhall Yard, Leadenhall Market, Aldwych, Lincoln's Inns Fields and The Southbank After the event is over you could remain in the centre of London and watch bike racing in St James' Park.
Wheelers are organising a guided ride from Mile End Park to Leadenhall Market and back again later in the day at 4pm. If you would like to join this convoy of bikes which will be marshaled by experienced riders and be an easy pace then we shall be leaving at 10 am from UNDER the Green Bridge (the same side as the cycle hire stations), Mile End Park on the corner of Mile End Road and Burdett Road. Children are welcomed but under 15s must be accompanied by an adult.
There is no need to register but if you do at this late stage you'll be able to download and print your registration number and collect your RideLondon tabard at one of the festival zones. Displaying a registration number on the front of your bike will get you photographed around the course and I think there is also a prize draw.
If you would like to join the guided ride then please meet us UNDER the Green Bridge at 10am. The return ride leaves Leadenhall Market at 4pm. The route of the FreeCycle is similar to last year, we will be entering it from Fenchurch Street.
Before leaving home please check that your bike is in a roadworthy condition, if you have any problems we could help you before the ride starts. This Saturday 21st July is Wheelers' monthly workshop so why not bring your bike to the workshop to get it in top condition before the FreeCycle.

Rides information
Our rides are highlighted by "RIDE". You don't have to be a member to join in and we're also always looking for new ride ideas. Contact our Rides Co-ordinator for further information.
There is no need to register beforehand for a ride unless this is specifically stated, most rides are "turn up and go".
If you haven't ridden with us before please read our Ride Guidance Notes.
Please note that for train assisted rides we often cannot publish times until about 2 weeks beforehand because of the need to check engineering works. Also sometimes our ride leaders do have to change dates/times/routes at reasonably short notice. Generally this website will be up to date and also details will be sent out to our email groups, but if in doubt contact the ride leader or our rides co-ordinator to check arrangements.
