Women's ride 3 - Rainham Marshes
The third in our series of women’s rides held in collaboration with Tower Hamlets Cycling Club will be an all day “out of London” trip to Rainham Marshes. A short train ride to Upminster to start and then about 10 miles of mostly motor traffic free cycling down the Ingrebourne Valley and then along the Thames riverside to the RSPB centre. There you can have a picnic, watch the wildlife or get lunch or just a coffee at the café and visitor centre. There is a possibility of free entry to the reserve for our group (normally £2.50 for non-members) – I am negotiating and will confirm this later. Cycle back to Upminster or return from a nearer station if you prefer – between 12 and 20 easy miles.
Three options for meeting places/times - at THCC just outside Mile End Stadium (where the cycle path crosses Rhodeswell Road NOT at the Green Bridge ) at 08.45, at Limehouse station at about 09.00 or outside Upminster station at 09.40 if you want to make your own way there. Cost with Oyster PAYG £1.40 each way.

Rides information
Our rides are highlighted by "RIDE". You don't have to be a member to join in and we're also always looking for new ride ideas. Contact our Rides Co-ordinator for further information.
There is no need to register beforehand for a ride unless this is specifically stated, most rides are "turn up and go".
If you haven't ridden with us before please read our Ride Guidance Notes.
Please note that for train assisted rides we often cannot publish times until about 2 weeks beforehand because of the need to check engineering works. Also sometimes our ride leaders do have to change dates/times/routes at reasonably short notice. Generally this website will be up to date and also details will be sent out to our email groups, but if in doubt contact the ride leader or our rides co-ordinator to check arrangements.
