Tower Hamlets Wheelers Meeting Minutes – September 2020

Held online via Zoom
Wednesday 9th September 2020 at 19:30

Bethnal Green Liveable Streets
- The scheme is underway & progressing at speed.
- There is still an issue at Columbia Primary School as they seem reluctant to encourage active travel due to lack of space to store pupil’s bikes/scooters
- It seems that Columbia Road Market is being used as a reason to not have any storage on the road.

Brick Lane
- Parts of Brick Lane are now pedestrianised. This has cut out North/South traffic cutting through.
- There is however still East/West motor traffic cutting through

Workshop
- The staff at the Town Hall are checking if the 6 person rule applies to the workshop
- ACTION: Keith to contact Rob Morton about Car Free Day (22nd Sep)

Old Ford Road Liveable Streets
- Project Centre Meeting Workshop took place, attended by Dan, Alex and Ross.
- The issue of zero proposed bike hangers within the scheme area was raised.
- ACTION: Need to lobby councillors on the importance and need of secure cycle hangers.
