Bethnal Green Liveable Streets Campaign Reflection/Look Ahead to Bow Liveable Streets Campaign
- There was an effective grassroots effort to engage with neighbours, local businesses and key community individuals from the pre-consultation stage. This meant that connections had already been formed when the public consultation was announced.
- A community WhatsApp group and reaching out to housing associations were positive means of outreach.
- Leafleting and the photo opportunity was particularly effective and resulted in media coverage.
- Look to replicate similar tactics for the Bow Liveable Streets consultation.
- Action Iain to look into creating a community WhatsApp group for Bow
- Action Iain to request traffic data for roads in Bow that was presented at pre-consultation
- Action Find out what resident’s associations there are in Bow
- Bow Liveable Streets campaign to be discussed further at future meeting
