1. Matters arising from 14/08/13
Pedal on UK, not well organised/signed, not sure what it was aimed at. Request Sustrans to have more things at weekends for us to support.
Minutes agreed with no changes.
21st Sept, Town Hall is Open House. KJ to contact Neil, CF to contact Tomomi, Need handout to say what Wheelers do (see later items)
Parklife – KJ, Bikeworks, Gerry (part time), GM to ask THCC if they want to attend, ask DT whether he is available, Helen + Christy may be able to help with event. Thames Festival – Ships Opera, ride organised, Gerry to lead, Keith to assist from TBW
4. Foot tunnel
Andy D attended inaugural meeting of FOGWOFT. Large contingent from Friends of Island Gardens, officials and committee elected. Some differences in opinion on whether cycling should be allowed, many against. THW to join as a group (CF to investigate), publicise to group so people can join as individual, to discuss at next meeting
a) Space for Cycling – well attended, feedback from MPs, something in East London Advertiser this week
b) Meeting with John Biggs 12/09/13 – GM attending with LCC staff. Rachel Aldred has census figures etc, Tom has 2009 TH cycling targets
c) Planning – general issues on large development regarding cycle parking, access and through infrastructure QECH - Wood Wharf – very low cycling share, access issues Bishopsgate goods yard – no consideration of new desire lines being created, offered a meeting d) Event on 19th with Canal and River Trust • Booked Arts Pavilion • Councillors covering areas abutting canal invited • On night – Trevor Parsons to introduce, Richard from Hackney to do maps • Food – Foodbank? but not sorted yet, may not come good
a) KJ ran workshop on his estate, successful, requested repeat
b) New borough co-ordinator/activism person appointed by LCC - Amy
