Cycle Superhighway 2 upgrade
CS2 upgrade consultation responses submitted November 2014:
Transport for London are proposing major improvements to Cycle Superhighway Route 2 (CS2) between Aldgate and Bow roundabout. Cycle lanes physically separated from other traffic, cycle-only phases at junctions are some of the features. Their full proposals can be viewed at tfl.gov.uk/cs2upgrade
Tower Hamlets Wheelers support these proposals but acknowledge that there are details that aren't perfect. With the London Cycling Campaign office, we are speaking with Transport for London and LB Tower Hamlets about these issues e.g. the banned right-turns at Mile End that would force motor traffic to use residential streets, the non-segregated section east of Globe Road-White Horse Lane, Whitechapel market logistics.
Overall though providing this space for cycling will not only greatly improve safety for those who already cycle but more importantly enable the majority that don't to start to see cycling as a viable transport option.
Please give your support by responding to the consultation using either method below. Transport for London need to know that you support their plans.
